Tanya Ravichandran kick-started her photography career at the precocious age of 11. By the time she was 15, she was shooting portfolio work for models placed in top agencies, editorials for magazines, and campaigns for clothing brands. For the U.S.-based Ravichandran, photography has never been about owning the best equipment; she is far more concerned with compositions and understanding how her art can benefit from strong collaboration between photographers, make-up artists, stylists and models. The 20-year-old finds that she is able to decisively determine how independent aspects of a shoot are executed as a result of having taken on photography at such a young age. Along with her multitasking chops, Ravichandran is also a huge advocate of secondhand shopping and promoting the inclusion of South Asians in designer fashion. Read More
